Green Highlights

Tune in to nature. Let it brighten your home. Grow your own green thumb.

  • Plants, Soil & Seeds

The Opus Grow Real® Light Box is like any other planter. Use it to repot your favorite succulents, or any other indoor plants in need of extra light. The organic potting mix that arrives with your box, Opus Mix #1, is suitable for a wide range of plants with its balanced nutrients and good drainage.

If you feel up to it, you could also start your own seedlings in the Grow Real® Light Box. Your planter box arrives with a delicious medley of microgreens (Radish, Arugula, Kale).

We partner with ecologically-minded farmers, gardeners, and seed savers in the Pacific Northwest to source the seeds available with our Grow Box. None of the seeds we offer are proprietary hybrids (F1), patented, PVP, or genetically modified (GMO). All of our available seeds are grown without chemical fertilizers, herbicides or pesticides, and none of them are treated.

    Planter

Pacific Northwest cedar, hand-built planter box with natural finish (no chemical treatment). Comes with a lid that fits under the planter box as a tray, and a copper bracket for fixing the lamp stand to the planter.

  • Directions for Use

    Assembling

Open the cedar box lid and place it under the planter as a tray to catch any extra water or soil. Take your bag of soil out of the planter, open it and pour its content back into the planter. Voilà. You’re now ready to put in your plants or seeds. For detailed growing tips for your plants of choice, check out our growing guides here.

The lamp assembles in a couple of simple steps: 1) Slide together the two parts of the lamp stand, so the grooves match. 2) Secure the assembled light stand to the planter box with the help of the copper bracket.

    Growing

Maintain room temperature between 65 and 77 F and keep the grow light on for no more than 14 - 16 hours a day. Remember that plants require 8 hours of darkness to grow healthy, so plan your Grow Real® Light Box light hours accordingly. Ensure sufficient moisture, especially if your plants are still young and their roots are shallow, but be careful to not overwater them. Overwatering is the easiest way to kill your houseplants. We recommend using a mister water bottle and/ or a small watering can for better control.

From seed to supper: between 2 and 6 weeks, depending on when you prefer to harvest your crop - as microgreens, or slightly more established plants.
